Answers to common questions about our legal services
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes. Our office offers a free 30-minute consultation to every new client. During this meeting, Attorney Ellis will review your situation and provide guidance on how to proceed with your case.
How much is my case going to cost?
The expense varies depending on the type of case. During your initial meeting, Attorney Ellis will review the details of your situation and provide a quote for your expected attorney fees. Some cases are handled on a flat-fee retainer (a flat rate that covers everything) and others are handled on an hourly retainer.
Do you accept payment plans?
Yes. Often times having to hire an attorney is an unexpected expense. If necessary, we will work out a payment plan that fits within your budget so that you can receive the legal representation you need.
If I hire you, are you going to be the attorney handling my case?
Yes. Unlike other firms that pass your case to associate attorneys or paralegals, Attorney Ellis will personally handle your case from start to finish. You will always know who is working on your case and will have direct access to your attorney.
What if my case is outside of Genesee County?
Attorney Ellis will travel to courts outside of Genesee County. She handles bankruptcy matters in Flint, Detroit, and Bay City. She will also travel to Circuit, District, and Probate courts in other counties throughout Michigan.
